Yeongaesomun armours.
Jumong armours. (compare with Shindon and Yeongaesomun armours above and keep in mind Jumong is set like 13 centuries
before Shindon and about 7 centuries before Yeongaesomun.)
Yeah, I can't quite shake the feeling that they went a bit too
far with costumes.
Another thing I don't understand is, if they decided to go fantasy with the costumes, I wonder
why they didn't go with the mythical storyline, where Jumong is the grandson of the god of heaven and god of water.
In
the myth, Jumong's father, Haemosu, appears as the son of heaven and mother, Yuhwa, is a daughter of water.
In this drama,
Haemosu is just a leader of the wandering remnants of ancient Chosun and Yuhwa is a daughter of Habaek tribe.
If they just
dropped the pretense and made this as a partial myth and partial history, than those costumes might have been a bit more acceptable.
